How to Get Involved

So many ways to make a difference

We really make a little go a long way, but maintaining services and regular trips in Bolivia takes constant donation of time and money.

To change a blind persons life takes about 30 minutes of surgery and costs as little as £50. So even small donations make a big difference. All of your donation is spent on changing patients lives for the better.

Donations

Regular donations are the life blood of Andean Medical Mission. Reach out today with a small regular amount through Justgiving.

Are you a doctor, nurse or Spanish speaker who would like to get involved? Get in touch and let’s see how you can help!

Activities

Marathons, triathlons, bike rides or even cake sales with us in mind, makes such a massive difference to sight!

Hands on

A huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes to allow us to perform surgery in Bolivia. We welcome support at all levels.

AMM Supporters Over The Years
Andean Medical Mission has been able to deliver ophthalmic services in Northern Bolivia since 2012 thanks to the support of many individuals who raise funds for us or make regular monthly donations to support our work. There are too many to mention but we are grateful to you all. Thank you.

Additionally, AMM have received support for many of our yearly projects, many from grant giving organizations. As a result, we have been able to maintain and update our equipment to the highest standard, AMM have implemented projects to tackle glaucoma, amblyopia and refractive error. We have trained many doctors and nurses to manage eye emergencies and have set up and run the AMM emergency hotline from funds we have received from grants made to us. We would like to acknowledge the regular support of the following organizations:

The Allergan International Foundation, The Ulverscroft Foundation, The Veta Bailey Charitable Trust, The Spectacle Makers Charity (Formally – The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers). The Sir Halley Stewart Trust, The Jephcott Trust, The Angela Gallagher Memorial Fund and many more who have made an incredible contribution to the work we do to prevent and reverse avoidable blindness in the Bolivian Amazon.

Finally, we would like to thank the volunteer surgeons, optoms and nurses who travel with us to Bolivia at their own expense to carry out the sight saving surgery that Andean Medical Mission carries out. We have enjoyed working with you all and so many patients have benefited from the wonderful care they have received from our amazing teams. Once again thank you all so much.
